A contact person is the official recipient for procedural documents and notices addressed to an Estonian company when its management board is located outside Estonia.

2. Is a contact person mandatory?

Yes. If the management board of an Estonian company is located outside Estonia, the Commercial Code requires appointing a contact person in Estonia.

3. Who can act as a contact person?

The role can be provided by a notary, advocate, law office, sworn auditor, audit firm or licensed trust and company service provider. Eesti Consulting provides this service as a licensed provider.

4. Can the legal address be separate?

Yes. Since February 2023, Estonian companies can choose a separate legal address from the contact person's address, although many non-residents use one provider for both services.

5. Can I replace my current contact person?

6. Do I need e-Residency?

If you have an e-Residency card, the change can usually be signed digitally with PIN-2. Without e-Residency, the process can be arranged through notarised and apostilled Power of Attorney.
